Abigail Liebhart, Sheet Soup, Ingredients Unknown, 2019, Acrylic on canvas.
Have you ever felt like both everything and nothing is at the tip of your fingers? That, some days, you are one step away from cracking life’s code, and miles away others. This piece is a metaphorical take on the secrets of the universe. The figure under the cloth represents our reality, what we know, what we are “sure” of. The limiting cloth is our only perspective, outside of which is the unknown. The darkness does not represent a lack of existence, but rather our inability to understand.
