Sometimes you don’t get to choose. You just have to take it. This piece represents being a woman in a modern society. In a world where women are constantly flooded with micro-aggressions, injustices, and dangers it can often be a challenge to do simple tasks like going to the grocery store alone. Although living with inequity is hard, it is not something women can avoid, as it is ingrained in society. The installation piece shows a woman being orally bombarded at the foot of her bed. This represents both the literal and figurative push back of one trying to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Artwork made for “Paintallation” project in advanced painting class. The project idea was to create an installation piece that involved paint.
